Outdoor family portraits are shot in natural light, on location around the Canberra area (or I can travel for a fee). These sessions are loosely posed and casual, with some 'smile for the camera' shots and plenty of candid captures. I'll encourage interaction, for natural smiles and to get kids laughing, but also know plenty about complimentary angles and posing so I'll be able to guide you in how to stand and sit so you'll look your best. Before the day, we'll go through what to wear, and how to prep the kids for their session so everyone's relaxed for their portraits. These sessions are the opposite of stiff and starchy, and we always have such a great time.

Outdoor portraits generally result in 50 - 70 professionally edited images for print and digital file selection at your ordering consultation, 3 - 4 weeks after the day of your session.

Lifestyle newborn photography is a really lovely storybook style of photography that captures a snapshot of what life is like for baby (in their home, with the people who love them most) in their first few weeks of life. Any items included in the photos are usually things that belong to them or are important to Mum and Dad. It's organic and it's emotional. Real moments and real connections. Framed in the most natural and meaningful of settings; a baby's first home.

Newborn portraits are ideally taken within the first few weeks of life, but as lifestyle photography is largely unposed, it's not essential for baby to be as flexible or sleepy as is typically required for traditional newborn posing. Late is also better than never when it comes to documenting your new addition, so newborn sessions can be booked for babies up to 3 months of age. Older siblings are of course included in the session as well.

(Need portraits for children or babies older than 3 months? Try a family portrait session instead)

Lifestyle newborn sessions lend themselves beautifully to a combination of wall prints for your home, digital files for sharing online, and a custom newborn session album.

These sessions typically result in 100 - 120 professionally edited images for print and digital file selection at your ordering consultation, 3 - 4 weeks after the day of your session.

It's important to me that I stay up-to-date with whooping cough vaccinations, for the protection of your new arrival. I also hold a current working with vulnerable people card, and as a mum myself, any loose posing done on the day of your portraits is done with baby's safety as my number 1 priority.

For families who want something completely different from the typical portrait experience; specialty day in the life portraits are shot in the family home for a beautiful journalistic feel. I come and spend a whole morning photographing your young family doing the things you love to do together, with a focus on connection and on the little details of the day. We start at around 7:30am, cooking and eating breakfast and helping the kids get dressed, then I spend time photographing you doing things you love to do together (playing, reading, cuddling, tickling, drawing, colouring, doing craft, games, cooking etc). We'll wrap up at around lunch time, so little people can still nap if that's part of their usual routine.

It's a session style that families find to be relaxed and easy, with minimal expectation on kids to be anything other than their usual selves (and none of the typical "sit here and smile nicely for the camera" requirements). They're at home and comfortable in their own space, and shots are for the most part completely unposed; perfect for capturing beautiful candid moments, and their amazing little personalities. The finished images from these sessions are quite an emotional collection of "this is so us!" photographs.

These family sessions typically result in 180 - 220 professionally edited images for print and digital file selection at your ordering consultation, 3 - 4 weeks after the day of your portraits. Day in the life sessions lend themselves beautifully to a combination of digital files for the printing of your own wall galleries and sharing online, and a custom session album to keep all your storybook style images together in one place.
